C2 exploded my business to more than a full time job!

by Tracie

Thanks to C2, my income went from needing to be supplemented, to paying our bills and now being able to afford hiring someone to help me! I "seeded" my C2 at first with real questions that people had asked over the years and then answered them. In my answers, I put links to pages on my site where they can purchase items to solve their problems.

Be patient, C2 really is like waiting for the snowball effect. Once Google finds your C2, you might need help keeping up with it. I have now hired someone to post and answer two of my C2 blogs because I can't keep up with it. I have also hired someone to record sales and other bookkeeping work, so I can concentrate on providing great customer service to my customers.

Some topics do lend themselves to be better topics for C2 than others. Topics that inspire conversation or interaction, like a popular television show would do better with C2 than say, concrete blocks.

However, the solution to the person with the concrete blocks site would be to appeal to those people who have an interest in concrete blocks and spinning the invitation page to engage them in conversation.

One example of this could be "How to paint concrete blocks," or "Creative Uses of Concrete Blocks," or "Questions About Making Concrete Blocks."

Just about any subject works with C2, it's all a matter of finding what gets people talking.

SBI!ers have found that choosing a a topic one has a passion for, enjoys, knows about or doesn't mind learning about is a great foundation for building an SBI! ebusiness. Many, many SBIers have employed C2 regardless of their site concept just by being creative and experimenting.

Maybe Tracie will have something to add. :-)

Choice of topics

Is your success due to your topic? If I was going to start a site, should I choose something that people are talking about (on shows, in magazines, etc.)? Are there any bad topics that are just not interesting?

How To Manage C2?
by: Wellesley

Hi Tracie,

Wellesley Gayle here, fellow SBIer.

How do you allow someone to monitor your C2 my friend? I would love to know.

Important Disclosure

This site was started by SiteSell.com (creator of SBI!) to showcase Content 2.0.

The vast majority of pages on this site are from submissions by real SBI! owners who want to share their stories with you.

They receive no compensation of any kind from SiteSell.com. Their stories are true.

Feel free to interact with any of them with your questions or comments. Use the Comments section at the end of each story.

You will notice a common thread here... These people simply do it. They have "BAM"...

Brain (knowledge of something) Attitude (positive) Motivation" (willing to work).

BAM is the key ingredient that you must add to SBI!. To elaborate...

"Brain" does not mean "brainy." It means they have, or have developed, knowledge in a niche (perhaps from a hobby, job, other life experience).

"Attitude" means they are positive, optimistic people who work well with others (this is why the SBI! Forums are unmatched in the small e-business world).

"Motivation" means they want to build a business and take control of their lives enough to sacrifice some leisure activities.

We point this out because we do not want to falsely raise your expectations. SBI! does not deliver "automatic success." Nothing can.

Your degree of success depends on your own level of "BAM," upon how much time you devote to building your Web business, and upon following the process correctly (every successful SBIer will tell you, "Follow the Action Guide").

SBI! does deliver what it promises... your best chance at e-business success. SBI! works... if you work it.
