C2 Gives My Visitors What They Want - And They Return for More!

by Susan

I publish a travel website, and the monthly "Events Calendars" are among its most popular pages, as visitors like to check out what's happening. C2 has revolutionized what they find in the Events Calendars!

Up until 2 weeks ago, I researched and wrote everything in the Events pages myself. Although this took a lot of time, I still worried I wasn't providing a broad enough mixture of events for my site visitors. I wanted to provide "insider information" about interesting events off the beaten path - but I write about a big city and there's lots I don't know!

Then I thought of C2. Perhaps it would be the solution for my problem?

Implementing it was much faster and easier than I'd expected - not really a surprise because the rest of SBI has been like that too.

But best of all, site visitors started sending me events almost immediately! It was as though they'd been waiting for it ... and maybe they had. After 2 weeks, I have 6 new pages about interesting events - with no effort from me other than minor editing - that I never would have added myself because I didn't know about them!

Six new pages may not seem like a lot - but this is just the beginning! I know that I'll get many more. And I can tell already by the traffic that these pages are getting that they're bringing more visitors to my site - and this will also increase!

Even better, the traffic to these new pages helps strengthen the monthly Event Calendar pages, which are among my best for monetization, directly and indirectly. So C2 is also having a nice impact on my bottom line - and this will grow also.

Thank you, SBI!

Use Merge/Demerge to Manage your Submissions
by: Jan

Hi Barb

Susan may have a better idea, but one way you could organize this would be to use the Merge/Demerge feature of Content 2.0.

It allows you to combine submissions together in groups, and in a case like yours, you could group them by date (monthly, quarterly, etc.). Then each month (or whatever interval you chose), you would go in and archive those particular submissions.

That's probably the fastest/easiest way.

You can find Merge/Demerge in the Content 2.0 library when you view "Manage Your Submissions."

Wondering about outdated pages
by: Barb

Thanks for your nice story!

I was wondering what you do about outdated pages with event listings.

I'm considering event listings as well, but am having concerns about 100s of pages and having to check every one regularly and remove them when it's time. Any thoughts on how to organize something like that?

Important Disclosure

This site was started by SiteSell.com (creator of SBI!) to showcase Content 2.0.

The vast majority of pages on this site are from submissions by real SBI! owners who want to share their stories with you.

They receive no compensation of any kind from SiteSell.com. Their stories are true.

Feel free to interact with any of them with your questions or comments. Use the Comments section at the end of each story.

You will notice a common thread here... These people simply do it. They have "BAM"...

Brain (knowledge of something) Attitude (positive) Motivation" (willing to work).

BAM is the key ingredient that you must add to SBI!. To elaborate...

"Brain" does not mean "brainy." It means they have, or have developed, knowledge in a niche (perhaps from a hobby, job, other life experience).

"Attitude" means they are positive, optimistic people who work well with others (this is why the SBI! Forums are unmatched in the small e-business world).

"Motivation" means they want to build a business and take control of their lives enough to sacrifice some leisure activities.

We point this out because we do not want to falsely raise your expectations. SBI! does not deliver "automatic success." Nothing can.

Your degree of success depends on your own level of "BAM," upon how much time you devote to building your Web business, and upon following the process correctly (every successful SBIer will tell you, "Follow the Action Guide").

SBI! does deliver what it promises... your best chance at e-business success. SBI! works... if you work it.
