Content 2.0 and Frequently Asked Questions

My site was about four years old and was a rather "mature" site when I decided to sit back and "take it easy" for a while. I signed up for Content 2.0, hoping that my site could go on "cruise" control while I took a break. At the time, $99/year seemed reasonable if I could get my visitors to write the content. The more people write, the more "fresh" ideas and new keywords I would have on my site. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I've made for my site.

I created a few pages to invite people to share their juicing experience:

1) On how juicing has helped improved their quality of life

2) For visitors to "Ask Sara" any questions pertaining to juicing/juicers

3) A guest book for visitors who want to leave a message for me on how they appreciated my website

Within a year, I've gotten more than 100 pages of free content written for me by my visitors, covering varied topics pertaining to health in general and juicing in particular. Some of these I would not have thought of writing. Some questions gave me ideas to create a special page on the site, just to answer their very relevant/unique questions.

I've also received feedback from visitors who actually enjoy reading the FAQs and who told me they appreciated how I have been answering questions so sincerely. From the look of my traffic statistics, many visitors had found these C2 pages through long-tail keywords and my traffic had snowballed very quickly.

I love how C2 helps me to keep building pages effortlessly. I'll be creating more pages for my visitors to share their recipes, ideas, experience, etc. People love an interactive site ... this I know because I hear it from my site visitors first hand.
