Ride With Me!

Ride With Me!

My day job is an Over the Road Trucker. The first things that bothered me about trucking was how too many drivers, in my opinion, were not happy about being truckers. Based on the answers to the questions I asked and the stories I was told without asking, many drivers didn't know what they were getting into when they got their CDL's and hit the highway.

They just got their CDL's and hit the road - because they could.

This meant people were surprised (and sometimes miserable) about what they encountered, even with some of the obvious things that weren't really thought through. For instance, some knew they would be away from home for 2-3 weeks at a time, but they never really entertained the thought of the impact that would have on the wife at home and the responsibilities she would have to take over. They didn't think about the new things she should learn and the type of person she needed to be in order for both of them to be happy. The money they should expect the first year and the expenses of being over the road were also big surprises.

In the first year I decided my mission would be to someday make the information available for people to use as a tool to make informed decisions.

I took notes here and there, but mostly I just became very observant and inquisitive and stored the issues in my head that needed to be explored and presented to future trucking candidates.

I started recording footage of my trips (up to 500 discs now), but never really got serious with making a complete movie. I figured I would do that when I stopped driving, as editing and such takes so much time.

I was also doing too many other things like exploring different ways to make money online. I worked with Clickbank, Adsense, EBay--you name it, I checked it out. None of it really blew me away, although I saw the potential. It just didn't move me enough. Each was too centrally focused on making money and I needed more.

Then I ran across the SBI Affiliate Program. From the beginning, I loved it because of the attitude Ken Evoy had and how he started the company. This guy was a man of my own mind. When I peered into the SBI forums I saw the attitude of the people there, too, were like mine.

That was it. I wanted to push this affiliate program because I believed in the product and I saw how it could help people achieve their dreams. Everyone would win. I toyed with it for a while trying to market SBI, but I didn't really feel complete.

One day, I finally paid more attention to one line that said something about being an owner of SBI first would make a person more effective in marketing the affiliate program. I had read this many times and of course it makes sense. I just didn't think seriously about the difference it would make psychologically at first.

I finally realized the reason I didn't feel right marketing it was because I didn't own it and hadn't used it and some of the things I was saying could only be said the way I was saying it if I had used it for myself and was satisfied with the result.

So . . . that meant I had to find a topic for a website. It took all that to figure out I could use SBI to make a website about life as a trucker, detailing all the information that I thought would be important to someone making a decision whether to become a trucker or not.

Life-as-a-trucker.com was born!

I worked on my site, but it was weeks in between me doing other things, as I jumped back to my other online endeavors which were a lot simpler than SBI. (If I didn't know me better I'd say I was looking for a get rich quick!)

One day, I was on the way to Arizona with a few stops in West Texas. I had dropped off a few pieces of furniture at different towns in Texas before I got to Sweetwater.

By the time I got to Sweetwater, my truck was acting up so I pulled in the truck stop to get it checked out. They needed to order a part so I would be there 2 or 3 days. While I was in the shop I checked into my SBI stats. The visitor count was not that high but there were visitors!

I didn't know why because I never posted anything about my site. I didn't want anyone in there yet because I didn't like how it looked. I did a Google search for trucking life. Wouldn't you know it? My pitiful little site was showing up on the first page of the search results, over millions of other pages with the key word!

This, of course, motivated me to spruce my site up and crank out the most important information so that the visiting people would not waste their time.

By the time I got out of the shop I had created 50 pages and started my Content 2.0 section. That was 2 years ago and my site has never left that first page of Google search results. Now it ranks on the first page of several other keywords too.

I have many visitors ask questions on my "Ask a Trucker" C2 page.

I have dedicated ex-truckers, truckers, and truckers' wives who saw and appreciated my vision just as I appreciated Ken Evoy and other SBIers come to my site and help me to educate the other potential drivers about life as a trucker.

I can't live off of my site yet and I don't know If I ever will, but I know it continues to grow month to month in ranking and visitors. People are linking to it and leaving positive comments because of the content. They say it's one of the best to learn about trucking.

That is enough for me to keep cranking out pages.

The best thing is . . . I use trucking as a tool to actually try and get people to look at life in another way. I try to give them a thought process and principles to use and apply to life in general, whether they will become truckers or not. That way, when they leave my website they are better positioned to do whatever they want than before they came.

The payoff? A couple of people making that exact claim about the site.

SBI will do all of what Ken Evoy claims it can do and so much more, when you apply their instruction, add your experiences or interests and just put in the time and effort.

The results are beyond monetary compensation.

By the way, I could make a lot more money had I not given away so much information. You will learn techniques and styles when you follow the Action Guide. I choose to give it all away just because I want my personal opinion to carry them through what I feel is the most effective way. If they click on a link to someplace else, it may not represent what I feel is the best way to do certain things.

I finally finished the DVDs. That is one of the other ways I will one day make money since I don't maximize my Google potential. Different people will find different ways to monetize. You will learn all of that too. Everything you need is in the Action Guide.

Good Luck,

Hervy

Important Disclosure

This site was started by SiteSell.com (creator of SBI!) to showcase Content 2.0.

The vast majority of pages on this site are from submissions by real SBI! owners who want to share their stories with you.

They receive no compensation of any kind from SiteSell.com. Their stories are true.

Feel free to interact with any of them with your questions or comments. Use the Comments section at the end of each story.

You will notice a common thread here... These people simply do it. They have "BAM"...

Brain (knowledge of something) Attitude (positive) Motivation" (willing to work).

BAM is the key ingredient that you must add to SBI!. To elaborate...

"Brain" does not mean "brainy." It means they have, or have developed, knowledge in a niche (perhaps from a hobby, job, other life experience).

"Attitude" means they are positive, optimistic people who work well with others (this is why the SBI! Forums are unmatched in the small e-business world).

"Motivation" means they want to build a business and take control of their lives enough to sacrifice some leisure activities.

We point this out because we do not want to falsely raise your expectations. SBI! does not deliver "automatic success." Nothing can.

Your degree of success depends on your own level of "BAM," upon how much time you devote to building your Web business, and upon following the process correctly (every successful SBIer will tell you, "Follow the Action Guide").

SBI! does deliver what it promises... your best chance at e-business success. SBI! works... if you work it.
