Got A New Job, So Putting Content 2.0 To Work For Me

by Rick Gregory

I've been plugging away at SBI for almost two years with good results on my nature travel site. I receive lots of questions about jungle trekking and where to see wildlife, but never thought to use Content 2.0 for the answers because it cost more.

Now that C2 is part of the main SBI package, it was an easy decision to start generating more content pages by asking visitors to submit travel stories and ask questions about holidaying in Malaysia.

A job opportunity came along and I worried that I couldn't keep up with adding more content pages when starting in a new full time position. However, the power of C2 allows you to concentrate on other responsibilities, while your website churns out pages on its own. I may not have the time to write new pages, but C2 will keep the ball rolling until I find out how to adjust my new work schedule.

So now all the questions that come to my nature site will not only be answered, but C2 will keep the site dynamic during my slow down period with the new job.

The entire SBI package is an amazing set of tools to build an online business at your own pace. Even when other opportunities came along, your website can function and grow without demanding too much of your time.

So while I go work for others, I'm putting C2 into action to work for me. How awesome is that!

You Control the Content
by: Jan

Hi There

The answer is: you have complete control over the content.

When people submit a comment or a contribution, there are settings that allow you to moderate submissions before they go live.

You can edit, delete, accept or ban any contribution or comment. No worries about spam!

What About Bots?
by: Angela

As an infopreneur, I love the idea of putting content 2.0 to work on my site, but how do you avoid spammers and bots from creating content you don't want?

Mini MySpace
by: Jan

Hi JM

As a contributor, all you have control over is to whether to submit or not. Things are set up on the back end by the webmaster. However, you could be given your own invitation so that all of your submissions are grouped together, or they can be grouped after the fact by using the tool Merge/Demerge.

If you're not the webmaster, perhaps you should contact him or her and see what can be worked out. Perhaps they will give you your own section if you contribute frequently enough. :)

Mini MySpace for Contributors?
by: JM

Jan,

How would one go about creating a mini mySpace for contributors? Not the webmaster, but someone who contributes on a regular basis answering questions, instead of the webmaster doing it. Or is this even possible?

How to Get and Edit Content 2.0 Contributions
by: Jan

Hi Jack!

There are many ways to get people to make Content 2.0 contributions on your site. Many times, just by placing an invitation on a well-traveled page on your site is all that is needed to get people to interact. Visitors see that entry form, and feel compelled to write something in it.

But sometimes webmasters need more control or more of a stimulus to get things going. In those cases, holding contests has been very effective. People love to compete and they especially love to win. So many times, a contest will kick start the contribution process into high gear.

Other methods have included creating a mini-MySpace, and a Question and Answer area where visitors can freely communicate with the webmaster and find out information they are looking for.

Whenever you receive a submission, you have complete control over its implementation. In fact, the submission will wait until you approve it before it goes live. Because of this, you have the ability to edit it slightly to improve grammar or spelling, for example, or to reject it entirely.

In this way, you can control spam that you might encounter and maintain a high-quality resource for your visitors.

Rick, please feel free to share if you wish. I'm sure Jack would love to hear any methods you've used personally to get submissions and control quality.

Filling in the Form

It's neat to think that people can expand the number of Web pages while you are busy. How do you make sure that happens? What if you don't like what they wrote?

Your knowledge and life experiences are unique. Use SBI! to tap into your interests. Connect with like-minded people. Grow a profitable e-business that can make this the first day of the rest of your life.

SBI! has long been the best way to achieve e-business-building success. No other product has its proven track record of success.

We took the best and pushed it an entire level higher. C2 turns your visitors into willing content-contributors. Content 2.0 pushes way beyond blogging, where you still create all the content and where only a few (the same few, if any) visitors leave short comments, often just to get "link love."

Content 2.0 is true Web 2.0 for the small e-business person. Visitors create full Web pages because they want to, because they share your passion. Others comment. Viral spread happens.

Important Disclosure

This site was started by SiteSell.com (creator of SBI!) to showcase Content 2.0.

The vast majority of pages on this site are from submissions by real SBI! owners who want to share their stories with you.

They receive no compensation of any kind from SiteSell.com. Their stories are true.

Feel free to interact with any of them with your questions or comments. Use the Comments section at the end of each story.

You will notice a common thread here... These people simply do it. They have "BAM"...

Brain (knowledge of something) Attitude (positive) Motivation" (willing to work).

BAM is the key ingredient that you must add to SBI!. To elaborate...

"Brain" does not mean "brainy." It means they have, or have developed, knowledge in a niche (perhaps from a hobby, job, other life experience).

"Attitude" means they are positive, optimistic people who work well with others (this is why the SBI! Forums are unmatched in the small e-business world).

"Motivation" means they want to build a business and take control of their lives enough to sacrifice some leisure activities.

We point this out because we do not want to falsely raise your expectations. SBI! does not deliver "automatic success." Nothing can.

Your degree of success depends on your own level of "BAM," upon how much time you devote to building your Web business, and upon following the process correctly (every successful SBIer will tell you, "Follow the Action Guide").

SBI! does deliver what it promises... your best chance at e-business success. SBI! works... if you work it.
