My Unexpected Success With Content 2.0

My main purpose for the website, Teen-beauty-tips.com, is to help teen girls find their true beauty amidst so many messages from the media and culture to idolize outer beauty. I did a trial with Content 2.0 and realized that the concept of C2 fit perfectly with my site! Girls love to talk and share their stories and that's what I encourage them to do virtually. Therefore, I decided to take the plunge with Content 2.0 and it has more than exceeded my expectations.

Because I give out a lot of advice online, I have an "Ask Shelley" page. I also have a page where visitors can submit prayer requests. Both of these pages get quite a few C2 submissions. But, I also have pages where girls share their stories about topics like body image and eating disorders as well as pages where they can share their opinions about controversial issues like Barbie's influence on girls. At first I was able to answer all of the submissions personally. However, now I have almost 1000 C2 pages and it continues to grow daily! Therefore, I started both a prayer team and a team of online mentors. I send out weekly e-mail updates with links to the new submissions to hundreds of team members that then help me respond to these girls and contribute great content to my site. I never would have imagined that I would have a ministry reaching thousands of girls each month across the world with a virtual team of volunteers to assist me. But, C2 has made all of that possible!

There's been an added bonus to C2. You see, I didn't intend to monetize teen-beauty-tips.com, except to promote my speaking ministry. However, C2 has helped change that for me. What started out as a passion to help girls has turned into a healthy, thriving website that now averages over 800 unique visitors per day. Not only has C2 improved my visitors experience, but it has also increased my traffic. With my traffic growing every month, I have been able to sell more copies of my book and am now in the process of creating other products. I am definitely a believer...because it works!
