I've gradually been building my travel site about Tokyo and been loving the whole process. The site has been up and growing for 2 years now and I've been really pleased with the progress. Still, there are always ways to improve what we're doing and I'm constantly reviewing what's working and what's not.
When I first tried C2 I used it to launch a video competition. This was a tough one. I wanted to grow my content but knew that video was a big ask of people. That's why I decided to try a competition. Big learning curve! People just don't want to be asked to do too much. I tried to make the process simple and there were some takers, but not as many as I'd hoped for.
Failure is never failure though... unless we let it be. Me? I'd got C2 between my teeth and was determined to make it work to grow my content. I knew there was a way. I decided to turn it round to giving my visitors the chance to ask their questions about travel to Tokyo and... BINGO! Hallelujah : )
I may not have had the number of submissions that some others have but not only does this method of using C2 encourage submissions, it also helps me to see where there are "holes" in my content. Someone asks a question and I think, hmmmm, I haven't covered that topic at all. It becomes a whole new section on the site. Awesome : )
My C2 continues to grow and it naturally builds my content around interest areas that visitors to Tokyo have that I might otherwise miss.
If you've not yet tried C2 and would like to give it a go, just think about what would make you take the time to write into a site. That's your particular C2 gold mine of content right there. Very happy customers and a very happy you!
